Site is winter ready, we’re getting witchy for all hallows eve and some changes to nudity policy…
Well here we are, autumn is upon us.
Late summer season was full on in my world! So many amazing things happening, including a fabulous (and sold out!) FLOW festival, sauna trainings and pop-up saunas in London.
I’m now looking forwards to the slowing and settling into the dark season, and am already in stew and soup making mode.
📣 NEWS FLASH 📣
We will be staying open throughout this winter, and have been upgrading the site so we are ‘winter ready’; with new pathways, covered areas, and non-slip walkways. Our pentagram fire pit is looking especially fabulous, ready for gathering around the fire.
We have reimagined our schedule, closing earlier and focusing on super cosy sauna experiences and developing nourishing rituals and treatments.
This season, you choose which sauna you will use for your session. If you book all seats in a sauna (8 in the main sauna, 4 in the clay lined baby banya ) you will have private use of the sauna and changing room.
The cold Plunge/showers, fire pit and the warm hangout forest room will be shared spaces.
I gave a leaf whisking session to a friend recently and the feedback was ‘I feel so full of love and that the has been world just being put to rights’ , we are bringing this gorgeous leaf massage and body scrub treatment to our Wednesday offerings.
This treatment brings nature into the sauna space and is extremely grounding and nurturing. Sometimes the most simple practices can go the deepest, and for this November we have an introductory offer of a 2 hour sauna including a 30 minute whisking and scrub treatment for £65 (full price £80)
I have been talking about genitals a lot this year 😅, and there have been developments in the nudity policy for our community sessions, all mixed sessions are now clothing mandatory from the waist down (*free the nipple*) .
I have been in conversation around this topic for the past few months and have spoken to many people within the wild spa team and community sessions. Essentially something started to feel off balance, and people, particually women were starting to feel uncomfortable in the space.
The decision was finally made late summer, and we have scheduled special ‘nudist Sundays’ once a month so we can have a day where guests can bathe nude (which I totally get is more comfortable), and now my topic of conversation is on nudist vs naturist – or should we go with the cultural line of ‘German Style’!?
Anyone who has been to a German sauna will know it’s mandatory nakedness that is the rule – you will get ushered out of the sauna if you go in wearing any clothing, a towel is the only thing you can take in with you – and you must sit on it correctly too…. maybe sauna etiquette is the topic for the next newsletter.

🔥 GRIEF RITUAL SAUNA 🔥

The grief sauna is a grief sensitive ritualised bathing session for all genders. It is a mixture of ritual and sauna practice to offer a grief tending space.
The pillar of the grief sauna is you do not have to name or speak about your grief, rather you are invited go through a sauna ritual rooted in somatic self body touch, breath and awareness.
This is a journey you are invited to make space for your grief. We will use scrubs, leaf whisking, fire ceremony, music and oils to create a nourishing place for you to turn up as you are.
You are invited to go as deeply as you feel you can whilst having autonomy over yourself. This aims to be therapeutic but is not a therapy. This may not be the space if your loss was very recent.

Join us as the veils thin for a very special womens evening.
What will the evening look like?
🕯️ Altar for our ancestors – bring a photo and candle for those you would like to remember on this auspicious eve.
🔥 Access to the wild spa saunas: our silent clay lined pirtis, hot nordic sauna and steamy greenhouse.
💧 Variety of refreshing options, including our massive cold plunge pool and forest showers.
✨ In-between heats, enjoy singing around the glow of the bonfire, apply a complimentary homemade clay mask, and ride the original witches broom…the sauna whisk! 🌿
🎃 To end the night, we’ll have a cauldron of homemade soup bubbling away for all to enjoy.
